Lennar Cheats Homebuyers Across The Country
There are few consumer groups more vulnerable to dishonest business practices than homebuyers. Many have never bought a home, applied for a mortgage, or dealt with a builder. The Lennar executives know this and prey on would-be homebuyers. A detailed review of Lennar business practices across the country reveals a strikingly similar pattern of gross misrepresentation by sales personnel, mortgage fraud, substandard workmanship, dishonored warranties, and failure to return deposited funds to homebuyers.
Cheated homebuyers have little recourse. This is, in part, because Lennar hides a clause deep in their home purchase documents that precludes a Lennar homebuyer from suing the company – no matter what the circumstance. Plus, most homebuyers are stretched financially by the home-buying process and do not have the resources to sue a litigious company like Lennar.
So homebuyers often turn to trusted review sites to tell their stories and vent their frustrations. A study of comments posted about the Lennar homebuying experience shared by Lennar customers in every market the company operates reveal a pattern. Virtually all of the comments posted about the Lennar homebuying experience are negative. The complaints are remarkably consistent. This suggests a pattern and practice and that Lennar has adopted defrauding homebuyers as a business model.
The complaints generally fall into these categories:
Shoddy Workmanship. Bait and Switch. Dishonored Warranties. Dishonest Sales Representatives. Outright Lies In The Sales And Delivery Process. Keeping Deposits On A False Pretext.
Reviews posted on trusted review sites tell the stories. Trust Pilot, Consumer Affairs, and the Better Business Bureau post reviews by swindled Lennar homebuyers. Both Trust Pilot and Consumer Affairs use a star rating system in addition to verifying each complaint. Notably, a consistent thread in these posts is that the reviewer laments the fact that the minimum star rating is one star – but they would rather give none.
These trusted review sites compile statistics and present the information in simple-to-understand graphs. These graphs are published below. Note this: Consumer Affairs indicates that an astounding 96% of reviews posted by Lennar homebuyers are one-star ratings. Trust Pilot indicates that 87% of Lennar homebuyer reviews are one-star ratings. As noted above, that is only because there isn’t a “no-star” option.
The Reviews Don’t Lie: Lennar Has Adopted a Business Model That Is Based On Taking Advantage Of Prospective Home Buyers
The reviews below are taken directly from three trusted consumer review sites: Trust Pilot, Consumer Affairs, and the Better Business Bureau. We looked at reviews posted on these trusted sites for a three year period. The reviews posted below are representative of a consistent pattern over the last three years.

Lennar Home Poor Workmanship

Unfortunately I Am The Owner Of A Lennar Home
It has been the worst nightmare of my life. If you are considering purchasing a home from them, don’t do it. Any home is better than this!

The Worst Quality
Quality of the home is worst and the warranty service they provided is absolutely terrible … If they fix one item, they will damage ten items. I suggest to think a million times before buying a Lennar home … you are wasting your money with zero satisfaction.

Stay Away From Lennar And Everyone They Are Associated With
There is nothing I can say positive about my experience with them. I regret buying a house from Lennar. Please stay away from Lennar unless you have a lot of money to waste. Even then I suggest you burn it rather than paying these thieve

Customer Service Issues
We purchased our $810k home in December 2021. Since day one we have had nothing but problems. Leaking, tiles coming loose, improper painting on the exterior. Customer service issues, being lied to, and feeling very disappointed with our home purchase.

Lennar Refused To Return Our Deposit
Applied for a mortgage to purchase home using my GI Bill. Gave Lennar over $7,000 in cash. Lennar Mortgage did not approve my loan, then switched mo over to another mortgage lender. Now Lennar mortgage is stating that I can’t get my money back since the process took over 30 days. I am a 100% disabled veteran.

Extremely Poor Workmanship
My wife and I purchased our house from Lennar in Surprise AZ. Our experience from then to now has been a nightmare. Extremely poor workmanship issues on pretty much every trade that entered our house. We even had to move out for 11 days.

A Nightmare Home Purchase
We purchased a Lennar home in Florida last year. …. As soon as we signed the paperwork, our new lives in our new dream home turned into an absolute nightmare. First came the massive slab leak, a result of undoubtedly rushed and shoddy workmanship. With every warranty claim we got further from having our home back.

Lennar Does Not Care About Its Customers
Clearly a company that is focused on profits over people. Bad service, hidden fees … rude, unprofessional, and cruel. It’s bullying pure and simple. Its appalling.

The Worst. The Absolute Worst.
Completely unprofessional and often incompetent workers … disrupting our lives for OVER A YEAR. Nearly every “fix” results in more damage. Every attempt to get help is met with empty promises or outright lies … This has taken a huge financial and emotional toll on me, my business, and my disabled veteran husband. Shame on you Lennar.

Poor Quality, Deceitful and Disrespectful
Lennar has become synonymous to poor quality, bad management and shady practices … There are various other builders in the area and I would avoid Lennar … Their construction managers are rude, disrespectful, and naive, their sales agents are deceitful and treat you like they are doing you a favor selling the house. Do yourself a favor and go with pretty much any other builder ….

Lennar Kept Our Deposit
My wife and I signed a contract for a new construction house and made a deposit of $10,000 by check, which was deposited by Lennar within two hours. Lennar was unable to deliver our home on a timely basis. We asked for our money back. I have received no help from Lennar after multiple emails and voice mails. I have been referred to Lennar Mortgage, Lennar Finance, and Lennar Account – but with no good contact information.

Lennar Customer Service And Warranty
We have been having issues with Lennar customer service and its warranty vendors. Every job that gets done leaves damage or unresolved items. We have already had to have some pretty major repairs on our house and each one has left us extremely frustrated at the lack of communication and quality of work. In total, we have had over 30 individual warranty items. We are always left fighting to just get what we paid for.

Read The Lennar Contract
Read the Lennar contract. Read it before signing. We were about to buy a home not yet built. No way I would ever sign such a document. Read the Disclosure paragraph 8 and 9 of page 5 of 12. If you sign after reading thise paragraphs, you deserve what you get.
Lennar And Its Executives Can’t Be Trusted
These reviews are just a sample of consistently negative reviews posted over a number of years about the Lennar home-buying experience. There is a clearcut pattern and practice of using fraud as a business model. This attitude permeates virtually all of Lennar’s dealings. This is a company that operates on greed and has little regard for the rights of others. Whether it is a pension fund in California, a homebuyer anywhere in the country, a bank, a land-seller, it’s all the same.
